Oatmalt Stout is a riff on arguably the world’s first ever oat stout, brewed in Alloa in the 1890s. Who better to commemorate one of many historic Scottish brewing firsts with than Gareth from Epochal in Glasgow. Gareth periodically sends through snippets he’s found proving that almost everything we do in the brewery has been touched by Scottish ingenuity and it makes the wee engineer in me proud. Rich, smooth, toasty and grown up. This is very much my kind of stout.
