x The Kernel Burton Ale 7.2% (500ml)

The Burton Ale collaboration with Thornbridge was released in cask at 5.5% abv. After that, Ben and Jonah of the Kernel brew team went back to Thornbridge to brew the Burton Ale, on the Union system again, this time for bottles. The bottle version has a similar profile but they brewed it to the same recipe and ABV as the original beer they made in 2011, namely 7.2%. A rich sweetness & notes of caramel come from the malts while golding hops and british yeast give a fruity and bitter-sweet finish. The extra body and warmth from the heightened abv seem a perfectly appropriate antidote to the chill in the weather we're feeling today.
